How to request iPad apps
WHO: Staff WHAT: How to request iPad apps SOLUTION: If the app you are requesting is a free app, and it doesn't require a student to login or provide personal data, you can request these apps through emailing tech support at tsupport@alexschools.org If the app you are requesting is free, but it requires a login or you have to provide personal data, it needs to go through the request process. You can do this by going to the Learn Platform located in your Staff Portal. Navigate to the Learn Platform app and search for the app you are requesting. Hover over the app and select request. Fill out the information and submit. This will go through the approval process to be either approved or denied. You will know in 3-5 business days if the app was approved or denied. If the app you are requesting is a paid for app, you will need to request this app through your building Admin (likely your supervisor or principal). If you are requesting one through sped, you need to reach out to Rose Krick to get this process started.

Spam/Phishing - What to do?
WHO: All USERS WHAT: What do do when there is spam or phishing attempts. What do you do and what to look out for. SOLUTION: At Alexandria Public Schools, we have a really good internet filter that is constantly pulling out email messages that are spam or phishing attempts. However, this is never 100% full proof. There may be times that these types of emails get through to you. There a few things to look out for so that you can protect yourself. If you notice anything off by the subject line of that particular email, do not open it. Sometimes these emails keeping spamming other users because the email has been opened. Please just delete it. If you do open something that you aren't sure about, check who it sent the email. A lot of times, you can tell if it's spam or phishing just by who sent it. If you open something that looks a little weird and they are prompting you to click on a link, DO NOT CLICK ON IT. NEVER give out any information about yourself. This includes your financial information, login information, personal information or any verification codes. This could comprise you or your account. At the end of the day, if you are not sure if an email is legit or not, PLEASE reach out to tech support. We would be happy to help you identify if the email is legit. We would rather have you reach out then any incidences occur that could cause harm to your identify, so please reach out! :)
